A 1920's building on it's very last legs.
Red Hill Abandoned Skate arena - Brisbane Australia.
Originally built as a theatre in 1920, it was turned into one of Brisbane's best roller skating rink until an arsonist lit it up 2002.
He was caught and charged.
It is now due to be developed into new apartments. This building is heritage listed, some parts of the building must remain in the renovation.
Before the magic of this place was lost forever I visited with some cameras, this is some preview footage of a larger video i am putting together.
Mavic - Flew well, a very tight space, heaps of metal interference and obstacles everywhere. A lot of concentration needed. Quite a lot of drift, i attempted without VPS on but this made drift worse.
Art can lift your spirits - something we all need right now. Watch with us (virtually) on Thursday March 26th, 2020 at 6PM NY Time, 10PM in London, 11PM in Europe and 9AM Friday March 27th in Melbourne. Featuring interviews with Eric Mangen, Adnate, Belin, Digital Does, BellaPhame, Dare Coulter, Ken Jeong, Brian Lewis, Gina Franco, Peter Draws, Insane51, Max Trujillo, and Sipros. Video produced by Paul Byun. Our plan was to release this Kotis Street Art movie in our theater, RED Cinemas, but due to COVID-19 we thought artists and the community as a whole could use a little hope while perhaps sitting at home sheltering in place. The current environment is depressing, but the artists in this video show how art can truly lift your spirits! When tallying the effort - over 70 artists, 180 installations adorn 100,000sf of our walls. There were so many that we weren't able to include all of the artwork or artists in the 10 minute video. So this is just a small sample of their great artwork - we will be posting more video segments and photos on our social media and website - www.KotisStreetArt.com

Warning: You can't unseen this footage! An Australian street artist has made headlines with his portrait of Hillary Clinton. He painted a wall in Melbourne with an image of the U.S. democratic presidential candidate wearing a rather skimpy swimsuit. However, the city complained that the mural violates gender equality principles. So, to avoid legal action, the artist painted a niqab over Hillary. Finally, the artist posted a photo of the wall online, after it had been painted completely black, with the caption "Looks like the council wins". RT caught up with the artist. One continuous shot following graffiti writer Sofles on a wander through Melbourne. This video was made possible to an amazing group of people, who came together to help us celebrate and pay homage to the Collingwood and Fitzroy area of Melbourne. Our goal was to create one continuous drone shot, captured in one take. The amazing team from Swarm UAV pulled it off. Here you have the result, along with words by the brilliant poet and author Omar Musa. Original soundtrack by Erin McKimm. Thanks to all the artists who came down to be a part of this video, the support team of assistants, Easey's, Everfresh Studio and everyone else who makes Collingwood such an amazing place.
