Darco FBI »niveau supérieur« Mit der Ausstellung »niveau supérieur« des Graffiti-Pioniers Darco FBI aus Paris geht die Ära der OZM Art Space Gallery in der Bartelsstrasse zu Ende. Nach dieser Ausstellung wird das Haus abgerissen. Wir danken allen für dieses tolle Jahrzehnt. Darco, der im Paris der frühen 80ziger mit dem Sprühen begann, gehört zu der 1. Generation europäischer Graffiti-Writer. Schon früh wurde Darco zu einem Star der sich international entwickelten Graffiti-Szene. Mit dem ersten Graffiti-Strafprozess in Frankreich wurde er auch einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit bekannt und arbeitet seitdem als freier Künstler. Für die Ausstellung in der OZM Art Space Gallery werden alle Werke vor Ort unter Einbezug der Räumlichkeiten entstehen. Artist Max Zorn 'paints' with packing tape

Instead of a paint brush, Max Zorn uses brown packing tape and layers it on glass to create his stunning artworks. It all started with a simple idea to stick tape art on regular street lamps, but after millions of views on the internet, Zorn turned his little project into a global one. People would apply on his website and if the location looked interesting for the artist, he would send out artworks to stick it there for free. Now the artist not only tapes his pieces onto street lamps, but showcases his work in art fairs and exhibitions around the globe as well. "I've always been a big fan of using the context of a city as the backdrop for art," Max says. "But I felt one aspect was underrepresented and that was street art that appears at night, when a city changes its face."

L'immense bâtiment gris et austère de cinq étages doit être bientôt rasé pour laisser la place à un complexe immobilier de luxe. En octobre, le collectif d'artistes urbains berlinois a convaincu les promoteurs immobiliers de leur laisser les clés du site.

Sneak Peek: So sieht es in Berlins neuem Museum für Street Art aus

Am Sonnabend eröffnet endlich das Museum for Urban Contemporary Art in Schöneberg. Wir durften vor der großen Eröffnungsfeier schon einmal vorbeischauen. Auf zwei Ebenen können Besucher Werke von 150 internationalen Künstlern sehen. Die dauerhafte Ausstellung in der Bülowstraße ist nur ein Teil des Projekts für Street Art.

We literally conquered Munich during the last month! Everything began with the opening of the photographic Exhibition “Neptune’s Gladiators” by Paolo Martinello. Second chapter of the project “Behind Excellence”. And so from the Munich Airport we moved to a completely different location: a wall of the Meininger Hotel in Munich. Here, on this wall, Agostino Iacurci gave life to “Ficus Indica”, a gift to the city of Munich, which reminds of his homeland: Apulia. Outstanding projects, with outstanding partner as @PugliaPromozione (which is also supporting the movement #WeAreCreativeInPuglia for which Iacurci has realized this piece of artwork) and @TheTripMagazine, which all contributed to the realization of this project.

Die Street-Art-Künstlerin Kurznachzehn ist bekannt für ihre filigranen Schablonen-Arbeiten, sogenannte Paste-Ups und Stencils. Ihre Motive findet sie vorzugsweise in alten Familienalben. Ihr Großvater war Hobbyfotograf und hatte, so Kurznachzehn, einen guten Blick dafür, ihre Mutter und deren Geschwister als Kinder in nachdenklichen oder im Spiel versunkenen Posen zu fotografieren.

Er lebte schnell, starb jung und schuf Tausende von Zeichnungen und Malereien, die heute für bis zu 50 Millionen US-Dollar pro Werk verkauft werden. Nach seinem Tod wurde er zu einem der wichtigsten Künstler seiner Generation. Jean-Michel Basquiat war die Personifikation der ultra-hippen Subkultur der Post-Punk-Ära Manhattans. Er hing mit Warhol ab, ging mit Madonna aus und veröffentlichte bahnbrechende Kunstwerke. Basquiat mischte die New Yorker Kunstwelt mit Arbeiten auf, die das Leben der Straße in die Hochkunst brachte. Rau, provokativ, schön, kindlich, spontan und voller Anspielungen: Seine Malereien und Zeichnungen – eine Kombination aus gekritzelten Formen und durchgestrichenen Wörtern – erschienen chaotisch, waren aber äußerst zweckorientiert. Kunst war sein Mittel, seine Erlebnisse als schwarzer Mann in einer weißen Welt zu verarbeiten. Das Porträt zeigt seine ambivalente Freundschaft mit Andy Warhol, taucht unter die Oberfläche und geht einigen Mythen auf den Grund. War Basquiat das gepeinigte, selbstverletzende Genie, ähnlich wie Vincent van Gogh? Oder war sein Schicksal ähnlicher dem eines Stars, der sich in einem Strudel aus Ruhm und Drogen verliert? 40° Urban Art Festival - Dokumentation 2019

Vom 18.9. bis 22.9.2019 ging das 40° Urban Art Festival in die vierte Runde. Dieses Mal rund um die Jülicher Brücke und angrenzend an das Mahnmal für die deportierten Juden und Jüdinnen am alten Güterbahnhof. Um der kreativen Gestaltung der Brücken und Pfeiler, als auch dem Gedenken an die Deportation in einem geschichtlichen als auch aktuellen Rahmen gleichermaßen gerecht zu werden, lautete das diesjährige Motto des 40° Urban Art Festivals: BRÜCKEN DENKEN. An der Gestaltung der ca. 2000 qm großen Fläche haben ca. 70 lokal, regional und auch international bekannte Graffiti und Urban Art Künstler*innen mitgewirkt. Für interessierte Kinder und Jugendliche fanden Workshops und Malaktionen statt, durch die sie an der Gestaltung des Festivals teilhaben konnten.
