For new years eve we went on another big excursion looking for adventures, fun and happiness. This time we visited Napels, this chaotic and sympathic city at the foot of the Vesuvio. Any face is remarkable for the Portuguese street artist who exploded onto the scene.
The Portuguese street artist Vhils has made a name for himself not with spray paint and graffiti, but instead by using a drill or even dynamite to create oversized portraits in stone walls. But Vhils himself prefers to keep out of the spotlight so that the focus remains on his art.
Outdoor paintings that are commissioned, or that have reached a level of public acceptance, are given a new designation: street art. Adding color and interest to bland plaster walls and concrete skate parks, this widespread style has been embraced as an art genre of its own. Turn right and walk down until you are again on Rua do Norte, then turn left. - At the end or Rua do Norte, turn right on TRAVESSA da QUEIMADA and walk until you will end up on RUA DA MISERICORDIA. - Once you end up on Rua da Misericordia/Rua de Sao Pedro de Alcantar, turn left and walk up until you will reach CALCADA DA GLORIA (where the tram and the galeria de arte urbana is), go down until you will be able to turn left in TRAVESSA FALA SO'. - Keep on walking on Travessa Fala So' (the name of the street will change but just keep on walking straight) until RUA DA ALEGRIA. - Once on Rua da Alegria turn right and walk down keeping the left side of the road, you will end up in Travessa SALITRE. - Walk straight on Travessa Salitre until you will arrive to an old theater area.
